About Sue:
Sue was born in Zambia, lived in South Africa and England before moving to the U.S.  She is strongly influenced by the energy and color of traditional African designs. These early experiences stirred her love in "primitive" arts and crafts, and helped to develop her focus on folk art.
Sue's designs are developed interactively with her drawing her designs in black and white, then challenging the people in her collaborative groups to choose their fabrics and to change and develop the design.Sue has also collaborated with her sister Wendy to create many colors in their hand-dyed range of wools specifically designed for patchworkers. They also work together to create fine silver jewelry based on Sue's folk art designs.

Sue uses many textural elements from her collection including cotton, wool and embellishments to design her beautiful quilts.
