Playhouse Gollies

Stage 2 of Playhouse Gollies.

This is a mystery quilt which will be revealed by the 5th stage.

This stage involves two blocks, both of which will be added to in later stages. 

The kit for this  stage is $58.30. Kits include everything ( by the end of stage 5) for the quilt top and binding including buttons and threads.

Pre ordered kits are being posted now. 

Stage 3 will be ready about mid May.

Libby's Bear Mystery BOM

I ( from today) have the first four stages of this quilt in pattern form. These are also the only patterns I have knowledge of.

Pattern set price: $132.00 which includes p&h within Australia. To be posted at the end of each month
Kit price: $43.20 per stage* This price will only be valid until mid July

My kits will contain all fabrics for quilt top and binding, weaveline for the embroidered backgrounds,fusible web, embroidery threads, laces (not doilies) and buttons #.
 # I am really not sure of buttons either, but have been prepared to take a gamble that a similar number ( or less) will be used in future blocks.
The kits will contain braids and trims where I use them, but in some cases where raw edges are not easy to contain, I have preferred (and opted for) additional embroidery instead of braids.
I cannot include doilies as it is still an unknown as to how many and what variety may be in the various stages, and I therefore may not be able to supply all that is needed.


I am making my sample as near to the colors that Libby has used, although Libby told me she has used many scraps for her quilt,  so there would be little likelihood of having exactly the same fabrics in every instance, but I do have some the same, and some very similar.

Hopefully I will remember to post the other 3 covers tomorrow....need to bring them home from the shop  to do so.

Stage 1 pattern arrived late Feb.

Approximate cost of pattern set (10 patterns) will be at least $100.00. Patterns ordered before March 20th can be locked in at $100.00. I have changed this from the previous date of the end of Feb due to my newsletter being quite late to notify people of this special.
Further patterns will have to have the price increased. At this stage the patterns are coming out monthly from Libby, and I am not sure whether this will continue, so the $100.00 price is very cheap and may not be able to be sustained with the nuerous postings required.
Stage 2 is expected at the end of March.

It's Time For Christmas

This Christmas quilt is a Bronwyn Hayes design and will be featured monthly in Homespun magazine as a BOM. This BOM began in the February issue this year.
The pattern is only available through the purchase of the magazine, but I have fabric kits available ( in small numbers) .

Kit: $133.00 

Kit includes all fabrics for quilt top and binding as listed in the Feb issue. It also includes weaveline.
* I have used many of the French General Favorites for this quilt, although some that Bronwyn has used have not been re released as the favorites range.
As the BOM progresses it may be that I have not factored in all the necessary scraps (as it is difficult to ascertain these from this initial photo), so these will be sent out if and when required. Any larger amendments made ( if made at all), throughout the magazine will incur an additional cost.
 One fabric I have made a definite change to is the central border fabric. I  believe mine will be much easier to  centre the design on the fabric so that it is the same on each side of the central square.
There is also a starter pack of the DMC threads for an additional $12.00

It's A Dog's Life

This quilt is approx 42 x 46", for those ( like me ) who are dog lovers, this is a wonderful celebration of dogs........with a couple of cats thrown in. Techniques include easy applique, some simple embroidery and basic machine piecing.

Picnic Time For Bears- the final result

Picnic Time For Bears is now revealed. A quilt that provides you and your child with many opportunities for conversation  and imagination. The quilt begins with the making of the central piece of the three bears in the arch. Several bears follow in subsequent stages, the verses of the well known song are stitched in the hearts and the petals form the borders.

My latest mystery -Picnic Time For Bears Stage 3

There are two and a half parts to this stage of the mystery. Tamara peers over her glasses as she reads her book. Pa has fallen asleep whilst reading his paper (and supposedly looking after Cooper and friends)...not to mention his coffee is spilled !! Cooper is sullen as his kite has crashed into Pa.
Pattern: this stage is not available separately due to its size and shape. The full pattern for the whole mystery is $55.00 but only stages 1,2 and 3 are available as yet. Stages 4 and 5 will be posted as they become "solved".
