Apologies for the delay with my email newsletter, in fact January missed out altogether. 

I had hoped 2014 would be a better year, but it didn't start that way with our 3 yr old grandson experiencing a few more hurdles with his chemotherapy, and my husband becoming ill with pneumonia. 

I apologise to those people who came to the shop to find it closed at times,  when it was necessary for me to run  my husband to various dr appointments for this and that test. These appointments were made with no time to put a back up plan in action. 

I hope to get the next newsletter out by 3rd week in Feb.

Christmas Hours 2013-2014

Christmas Closure: I will be closing at the end of trade on Sat Dec 14^th, and will  reopen  Tuesday January 7th  from 10 a.m.

I will be available by appointment at times  - this means a pre arranged appointment, as I may not be in Bendigo at the time you arrive at the shop so can't necessarily be there in 5 mins.

Bendigo Cup Day

The shop will be closed  (as almost all Bendigo shops will be)
for the Bendigo Cup this coming Wednesday October 30th.
I apologise for any inconvenience.

Shop Closed Sat 28th September.

I wish to announce that the shop will be closed this coming Saturday ( Sept 28th) for personal family reasons.
I apologise to anyone who may have travelled  to the shop and found it closed.
Normal hours will resume from Tuesday, October 1st.

Life's ups and downs

This week I had hoped to put lots of things on my blog which didn’t get posted relating to my July newsletter.

Unfortunately the past week has been turned upside down with our youngest (3&1/2 year old) grandson being diagnosed with Wilms tumor . He should end up being Ok but only after a period of chemotherapy, (which started yesterday), surgery to remove a kidney and whatever is ascertained as necessary after that. I hope you will understand that if I have not met all my mail-order postings,  that I will do them asap when I return to the shop.

Author of many quilting books, and creator of many inspirational quilting methods, and a much loved tutor world-wide. Her legacy lives on with many quilters being very much influenced by her designs and teaching methods.  Some of her books included: It’s Ok if you Sit on My Quilt, Connecting Up, Baker’s Dozen Doubled.

I met Mary Ellen down at Arawata at Julie Wallace’s Quilters’ Barn, some years ago when we were both tutors there. Naturally I was overawed to be in the same company. An amazing and fun-loving lady. I am sure Julie wouldn’t mind me sharing the fact that the photo she sent me yesterday had Mary Ellen wearing a teeshirt that said:-

“The YEARS have been kind to me,

it’s the WEEKENDS that have done me in”

Shop closure for 2 bereavements

I wish to advise you, that due to the passing of two of my aunties over the past few days, I will be closed Thursday (all day) and Friday (afternoon) of this week. 

Both Wendy and I will be attending the funerals.

I apologise to those who may have visited (or planned a visit) at those times.
