Retirement from 163 View St.

It’s Time !!!   Shop Retirement  sale !!! 

I am retiring in the coming months - (anticipating  mid July), from my retail shop “Li’l Bloke’s” 163 View St, Bendigo after almost 19 years. 

It will be tinged with some sadness- leaving my Dad’s old address where he conducted his electrical business,  but at least I will retain my business name  (Li'l Bloke's) given by him in my childhood,  and will continue my business in a different format. 

I look forward to catching up with,  and personally thanking my past and current supporters/customers  and perhaps meeting some new ones over the next couple of months. If you can’t make it to take advantage of this sale, I thank you for your support over those 19 years, plus  6 though mail order prior to that. 

Sale includes - End of fabric bolt 50% and 

 40% off most other items. 

Some exclusions apply - details will be on my blog (lilblokes.blogspot.com) and posted in store hopefully by tomorrow. 

Mail order customers may take advantage of the sale prices but postage and handling will be applied on all items. 

Those participating in any of my Boms - these will still be available for you to continue.

I plan to open my mini studio near to the end of August.

Round Robin Bears - a sneak peak !!!

Pulled out an old old UFO - a design of mine which will possibly be called "Round Robin Bears", as I am going to  add more borders...... mmmmmm ! Not sure of the size ofthe quilt   yet. 

 I am replacing the old button eyes and stitched mouths and noses with penned features. Then hopefully I'll finish the Broderie Perse borders  on the other two sides and corners. Let's hope it stays out of the UFO pile and gets completed over my Christmas break.  😏

The kits for this design will be limited to the amount of the beautiful border  fabric I can supply as I have had it stashed away for many years. 

Let me know if you're interested and I will put you on my list - can't guarantee a number yet until I work out how much border fabric will be needed.

Just received my Robot quilt from the quilter - beautifully quilted by Geoff Coates. 

Looks like I'll be wanting a cool night to stitch down the binding. Then I can say one UFO is finished in 2018 !!!!

Made from a pattern by Janelle Wind with some variations 

(4 robots instead of 2).

My pillow is also a variation of Janelle's small cushion.

Gollie Charm

My popular little "Gollie  Charm" quilt (approx 24x26"). Designed and made in 1996. 

In fact mine was so popular it was stolen from my shop. 

The sample shown here was very generously made under the cover of darkness by my friend Jean O'Connor who  surprised me with this  replacement.

 Patterns are $15.40 and kits which include all fabrics, threads and fusible web are now available with red, green or blue borders. Kits $66.00.

Amelia pre fused bear

Amelia Bear is approx 6&1/2" and all ready to press to your background and stitch. 

Faces are painted and just need an ecru French knot in each eye. 

Detail lines are also drawn for added embroidery stitches  to enhance this  little bear.

Each bear comes packaged and includes instructions to complete.

Playing with paper - hearts - 25 pages - covers tools required, epp techniques, fussy cutting, and many individual  heart designs made by various epp shapes. There is also a section on using the epp hearts as  borders, and one on heart blocks. It shows how to use the various shapes to create the designs.  A fabulous jam packed booklet.  

Petite pincushions gives many pincushion designs including instructions and techniques to achieve them. 

Raggedy Anne

Raggedy Hearts blanket available as a pattern or kit. 

The raggies are now available as pre fused figures @$15.00 each. Second picture shows a finished stitched raggy. 

With your pre fused figure, all you need to do is press to fuse then blanket stitch, adding extra details in back stitch. The  facial features are completed. Hair needs to be done in e.g stem stitch.
